Guest Judges

We have invited several guest judges to participate in the judging of the league. These are international riders and persons that are involved in the equestrian sector.

Ian Fearon

We are delighted to have Ian as One of the main judges involved in the first year of the Stepping Stones to Success League for 4 & 5 yr old horses

Some of Ian’s Achievements to date are as follows:

  • Show-jumping rider with success at novice to grand prix level.
  • High Performance “Level 3” Coach and H S I Tutor.
  • Coach for Show-jumping ireland (Clinics)
  • Private Coach (show-jumping) National and Grand Prix level.
  • Managed and Coached pony show-jumping and Eventing Teams and children on horses European Teams (achieving Gold,Silver,and Bronze medals)
  • Show-jumping Coach for 3 day Event Teams [junior & young riders] at European Championships (achieving Silver,and Bronze Medals)
  • Show-jumping Coach for senior 3 day Eventing Squads competiting at all major Events including European Championships and London Olympics with great success
  • Show-jumping Coach at the Young Horse Championships “LeLion” France {6-7 year olds} event horses

Ann Marie Dunphy

We are delighted to announce the involvement of Ann Marie as one of the judges of the flatwork section – some of the experience she will bring to the panel is described below.

Anne Marie Dunphy is one of Ireland’s leading professional dressage riders and trainers and has been competing internationally since 2001.

With many years experience working in both the sport horse and thoroughbred industries, Anne Marie is recognized as a consistent producer of quality dressage horses and during her career has trained with many of the leading names in the business, including top German coach Conrad Schumacher, Dutch Olympic medallist Ellen Bontje, leading HSI Tutor Niall Quirk and Ferdi Eilberg.

Sasha Stewart

As part of the judging panel for the event league we are delighted to announce Sasha to the team – as you can read here are some of her achievements to date!!

  • Gold medal young rider Europeans -Germany ’95
  • Member of Irish event team 93,94,95,96,99,01,02,03,04
  • Competed at World, European and Olympic level.
  • Won eventing Ireland’s outstanding international achievement award 5 times. Burghley 4 star 03 and 04.
  • Trained and based with Carl Hester after eventing and competed pure dressage at sunshine tour in Spain on Falco (small tour) and on Uthopia (medium).
  • Competed up to and including inter 2 level pure dressage.
  • Dressage eventing claim to fame is that she is the only Irish rider to ever receive 3 tens in a championship test. (Jerez world games 02)!!!
